Movies & Concerts on the Square
Movies on the Square are back this year. Beginning on Wednesday, June 16th at 8:45pm, the city will air a different film each week for 8 weeks. The screen will be in front of the RTS Plaza Stage facing the Palladian Clock Tower.

Concerts on the Square are also returning. Every Thursday from June 3 - August 5, from 6pm-8pm, a different band will play on the RTS Plaza Stage.

Town Center Action Team Meeting: Vacant SuperFresh Site

The Town Center Action Team (TCAT) is holding a meeting on Thursday,  April 8, at 7pm in the Rockville Mayor and Council Chambers at City Hall to discuss the vacant retail space that SuperFresh was expected to move into. Neil Burka (FRIT on-site retail manager) and a leasing representative from FRIT will be there to discuss future plans for the site and any inquiries received to date.  All residents are invited to attend.  If you have any questions about the meeting, please contact the meeting organizer, Trapper Martin at tmartin@noodles.com or (202) 288-8002.

Potomac Riving Running Events
Free Fun Runs start this Wednesday: This Wednesday and every Wednesday at 6:30pm for an easy 3-5 mile staff led run out of the Potomac River Running store on the square.  And to celebrate the first one, join us at La Tasca afterwards for drinks and complimentary paella.  We'll also have coupons for La Tasca for every participant, so bring a clean shirt for afterwards and meet your fellow runners!  And next week, take the opportunity to try on the Adidas Supernova Glide 2 with a gift with purchase or try on.

Rockville Planning Commission Meeting - 2/24
The Rockville Planning Commission is meeting on Feb 24, 2010 at 7pm in the Mayor and Council Chamber.  The two primary agenda items are:
    1.    The construction of 6,070 square foot addition to the  
           Rockville Senior Center at 1150 Carnation Drive in the Park  
           Zone.  
    2.    The construction of a 166,000 square foot annex to the
           Montgomery County Judicial Center at 50 Maryland Avenue.

Christmas Tree Disposal
Residents who would like to dispose of their live Christmas Tree may do so by contacting the Management Office at 301-294-7477. Management will provide a disposal bag and arrange for the staff to retrieve your tree. Please do not attempt to dispose of the tree yourself.

Free Holiday Parking

Parking in the 3 Rockville Town Square garages will be free, beginning Monday, Dec. 14, through Sunday, Jan. 3.

Parking meters will still cost $1 per hour from 7am-10pm, Monday through Saturday.


Holidays in Rockvile Town Square
Live displays and train rides on the plaza for children will begin this Saturday, December 19th, from 1pm-5pm and will continue each Saturday until January 2nd.


Palladian Holiday Breakfast - 12/13

The Palladian Social Committee is organizing a Holiday Breakfast on Sunday, December 13 from 9-11am in the Club Room. Along with the breakfast, we are also holding a can drive and all donations will be delivered to Manna Food Center.

CCTV Installation
The Board of Directors and Management are pleased to announce that the much-anticipated installation of the security cameras is complete. The fifteen, unobtrusive, domed cameras are located throughout the building in the building entrance lobbies, garages, Club Room, and Fitness Room.  While these cameras are not monitored, a DVR recording device continuously records and stores activity and can be reviewed on an as needed basis by management.  We would like to thank the Safety and Security Committee for their valuable assistance in planning and implementing this system.

Pool Passes
A pool pass information form may be picked up at the Management office; each unit must complete a form in order to receive pool passes for the season.  The pool is located in the Fenestra, 20 Maryland Ave.  Hours are Monday-Sunday, 11am – 7pm.  The pool will open beginning on Saturday, May 23rd.  Passes will be ready for pick up beginning Friday, May 1st.  Pool Rules and Guest Passes will also be distributed at that time.

Public Lobby
Complete Building Services (CBS) informs us that they will be painting the public lobby outside of our main entrance beginning on Monday, April 6th and completing the work by Wednesday, April 8th.  The walls will be repaired, caulked, and painted the same color.  Ed Beccles, of CBS, assured Management that inconvenience will be ‘minimal’.


Door Mats

In accordance with Palladian Bylaws and Rules doormats are not permitted to be kept in the hallways. Doormats are a trip hazard and also impede proper vacuuming of the hallway carpets. Management will conduct periodic building inspections; units displaying doormats will receive a violation letter.  We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Summit To Review Town Square Status
The Town Center Action Team is planning a very special event on April 21:a Town Center Summit, from 7 to 9pm in the VisArts second floor exhibit hall.

The Town Center Summit will focus on the successes and prospects of Town Square development and how we can facilitate and encourage improvements in the short and long term. The meeting will include representatives from all of the various interests that will influence the future of our Town Center - residents, merchants, property owners and managers - who live and work in Town Square, and also Rockville citizens who have an interest in our new Center.

Marble Restoration
On April 6th, the Stuart Dean Company began restoration of the marble floors throughout the building. This includes all elevators and elevator lobbies on all floors and in the garages, as well as the building entrance lobby and the north, or ‘Austin Grill’ lobby.  The workers will begin on the top floor and work their way down, servicing one elevator lobby at a time; therefore, residents may be asked to use an alternate elevator, when necessary. Signs will, of course, be posted in advance. The work will take place Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9am and 5pm. The project is anticipated to take several weeks.  Updates will be posted as required.

Fire Safety Presentation  & Board Meeting - Thurs. 4/16
A member of the Rockville Fire Department will give a fire safety presentation at the next board meeting on Thursday, April 16th at 7pm in the Club Room. If you have any questions you’d like to ask, please provide them in writing to Management’s email address rsthoa@gmail.com, by close of business on Monday, April 6th. Residents are encouraged to attend this important meeting.

Hometown Holidays Poster Competition
The City of Rockville is proud to announce the Hometown Holidays poster competition. The winning design will be used to promote the 2009 Hometown Holidays festival on posters, in newspaper and magazine print ads and on the City's web site.

- Designs are due on Wednesday, April 8.
- The poster design should incorporate the nature of street
   festivals, such as music, dance, celebration, family and friends 
   
   gathering.

- The contest is open to Montgomery County residents age 18 and
   older.
- The winner will receive $500.

Fire Alarm Testing - 3/23-4/3
Testing of the Block 4 and 5 fire-alarm systems will begin on Monday, 3/23, and continue through Friday, 4/3, between the hours of 8am and 11:30am. During most of the testing, the alarms will be silenced; however, there will be at least one day, which has not yet been determined, when the alarms may sound intermittently during those hours. Once a definite date has been determined, Management will post a notice.  Thanks for your patience during this testing.

Next Board of Directors Meeting - 2/9
The February Board of Directors Meeting will be held on Monday February 9, 2009 at 7pm in the club room. The proposed lobby re-decoration will be voted on. All residents are welcome to voice their opinion and vote on the issue. The new Rockville Town Square maintenance contractor, Complete Building Services, will also be at the meeting to give a presentation on their role in RTS and field any questions residents may have about maintenance and upkeep of RTS common areas. All residents are encouraged to attend, including owners, LTO and renters.

Management Office Update - New Manager & Office Move
We have a new General Manager at the Palladian. Victoria Myers joined the Palladian on Monday, December 15th, replacing Meagan Willis as General Manager. Vicki brings over 25 years of property management experience to the Palladian and joins us from the Grosvenor Park I Condominium where she served as General Manager. Calling all Palladian residents - Ideas to Improve Rockville Town Square
Do you have an idea for a project to improve Rockville Town Square? If so, now is your time to be heard!

The City Manager's Office is requesting suggestions from Rockville residents in our City's capital budget process. The City relies on its residents to help monitor the condition of our streets and parks, and to help plan new facilities or changes to existing infrastructure to meet the needs of our community. If you have an idea for an improvement to the neighborhood, whether it be in Rockville Town Square or anywhere in the Rockville City limits, please submit it to the Palladian Board of Directors for consideration. The proposals must be one-time construction related projects with a cost of $25,000 or more and will  benefit the community for more than 20 years.

Examples of projects submitted by neighborhoods last year include:
  •  Neighborhood sidewalk, curb/gutter and street repairs
  •  Pathway lighting in a neighborhood park
  •  Additional benches in a neighborhood park

Garage Power Washing
Garage power washing is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 29th at 9am. The process will take a total of 4 days. Below is a detailed schedule of what spaces will needto be vacated in order to get every space. All spaces must be vacated by 9am on their scheduled day and remain so until 5pm that evening. Public Garage Ramp Construction
Construction activity will be occurring at the Palladian public garage entrance ramp starting on Wednesday, July 22. One lane will be open at all times during repairs and there will be a traffic control attendee in place during normal business hours. After hours, temporary barriers and plates will be in place to re-open two way traffic patterns. The work is expected to take two weeks.

A Special Meeting of the Palladian Board of Directors will be held on Monday, July 14 at 7pm in the Club Room to discuss and vote on the proposed club room/deck and garage rules. All residents are welcome to attend and will have an opportunity to comment on the rules if they so choose.

Pool Passes
If you submitted your application for pool passes, but have not yet picked them up, please stop by the management office to get them. You must have a pass to access the pool. The pool is now open.

Deliveries/Moves Update
Town and Country is no longer the preferred mover for the Palladian.  Any deliveries or moves must be scheduled through the management office.

City of Rockville Parking Information
Residents may now purchase monthly parking passes from the City of Rockville. They are available for $85 per month ($75 for MPDU residents). Please contact David Levy at 240-314-8272 for more information or to obtain one.

Residents and their guests may now park overnight in the public parking garages. Originally, overnight parking was not allowed.

The new public parking system has a feature that allows for advanced payment of up to four hours. You may now prepay at a pay station in the evening and it will store that pre-payment and apply it towards meter time starting at 7am. Yard Sale to Benefit Victim Assistance Fund  - 5/31
On Saturday, May 31, from 9am - 2pm, (no early birds please) at the Rockville Elks Lodge #15,5 Taft Court, Rockville, members of the Montgomery County Police Victims Assistance Unit are holding a yard sale to include: clothing (children and adult), household items, small furniture and toys. Ride of Silence
On May 21, 2008, at 7pm, the Ride of Silence will begin in North America and roll across the globe. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways. The Rockville Ride of Silence will depart from the plaza in front of the new Rockville Library in Town Center and travel approximately 10 miles through several areas of Rockville, on multi-use paths and public roads, all with an escort provided by the Rockville City Police. The Ride of Silence is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph and remain silent during the ride. There is no brochure, no sponsors, no registration fees and no t-shirt. The ride, which is held during Bike Safety month, aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The fire alarm technicians did not reactivate the magnets on the doors leading to the elevator banks on each floor after the
alarm testing last week causing the doors to remain closed. The technicians will be back out to the building on Thursday to fix
this issue.

The Amtek 888 number was down on 4/17 from the morning until 2:30pm, which resulted in some calls going unanswered due
to a third party network outage. The system is now back up and functioning properly.

Concierge Desk has Moved - originally posted 4/8/08
The concierge desk officially moved to its permanent location. The new concierge phone number is 301-294-6580 and the address is 20 Maryland Avenue, located at the corner of Beall Avenue and Maryland Avenue (formerly known as the Venetian Condo). All packages will be delivered to this location. The concierge will contact residents to notify them that a package has arrived for their unit. If you would like your package delivered to the management office for pickup during office hours, please notify the concierge.

Please provide the make, model, color, license plate number of your vehicle and parking space number(s) that you own. Parking in Block 4 (former Venetian Condominium) -

The parking garage in Block 4 is fully functional and everyone who purchased a space in this lot should be using it. If you had been temporarily parking in Block 5, you must discontinue using these spaces. The entrance to the Block 4 garage can be accessed either from Route 355, or in between Gold's Gym and the Verizon Wireless store. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
